Wear It Pink at The Skin Clinic at Urban Spa in Bishop’s Stortford
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a worldwide annual campaign taking place in October to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, education and research.
There are many ways that you can raise money and show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness and here at our beauty & wellness salon in Bishop’s Stortford we are throwing our support behind the Wear It Pink day on October 18th.
Why Do We Wear Pink In Support Of Breast Cancer Awareness?
It all started with ribbons. Since the 19th century, ribbons have been worn in a myriad of colours to support efforts to raise awareness of a variety of diseases and disorders.
In the 1990s, pink ribbons were used to raise breast cancer awareness and the colour stuck. We wear pink to honour those who have lost their battles and support those still to come, whilst drawing attention to the fact that there is still so much more to be done to find a cure for this disease.
You do not only have to wear a pink ribbon however, you can wear a pink top, shoes, have a pink manicure or even dye your hair pink to show your support. Check out our favourite ways to wear a pink manicure and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October….
Glitter Pink Nails During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Glitter is a girl’s best friend when it comes to an eye-catching manicure. Whether your base colour is a candy floss colour or neon pink, a glittery nail polish will add the “wow” factor to your manicure. Show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness by flashing your glittery manicure throughout October.
Pearly Pink Nails for Breast Cancer Awareness
Breast cancer is commonly thought of as a women’s disease (although men can be affected too), so your manicure can be as “girly” as you wish. Pearlescent pink nail colours are perfect for showcasing your flirty, feminine side whilst showing your support for the cause.
Barbie Pink Nails
One of the best pink shades for a manicure is Barbie Pink. Hot pink nails aka “Barbie nails” are making their appearance for October, and we’re in full support. This bright colour will draw the eye and start up an important conversation about Breast Cancer Awareness.
Wear It Pink – Nail Art
If wearing pink nails during October is too subtle for you, why not showcase your support with some Breast Cancer Awareness nail art? Mix up pink nail polish with some funky nail art designs or pretty pink accessories.
