Your Top Ten New Year Resolutions for 2025
The arrival of a new year gives us time to reflect on the previous year before looking to the future. New Year Resolutions usually reflect a desire for balance, health, and personal growth, and are often revisited or adapted as the year progresses, so let's take a look at what might be in store for you.
#1. I will improve my physical health
You can do this by hitting the gym, running or joining a fitness class. If that sounds a little daunting, take it step by step and gradually build up your fitness and stamina.
#2. I will eat healthier
Start making smarter choices by cutting down on processed foods, sugar and alcohol. You will feel better for it with likely improvements in your energy levels and waistline!
#3. I will save money
Start by making a list of your expenditure. Then look at what you can reasonably cut down on.
#4. I will learn something new
Have you been yearning to learn a new language or want to master a musical instrument? Whatever it is, there are so many free online learning resources available now so why not give it a go? Look at your professional development too and ask your boss if you can take a course or gain certification.
#5. I will spend more time with family and friends
Surround yourself with great friends and the people you love and you will reap so many positive benefits including improved wellbeing. Put down the mobile phone and pick up the phone to have a chat.
#6. I will reduce my stress levels and improve my mental health
Consider practising mindfulness, meditation, or yoga and set boundaries at work to avoid burnout. Everyone has daily stresses in their life, so why not treat yourself. Take an hour or two to distress with a massage and to add a little extra pampering with a massage at your favourite Bishop's Stortford spa.
#7. I will wear SPF every day
Many people will tell you that SPF is the most effective means of slowing down the ageing process. Make sure your daily moisturiser contains at least SPF15 and use it all year round! The sun may be weaker come winter, but those sneaky UVA rays (responsible for damage and ageing) are present whatever the weather.
#8. I will visit my hairdresser regularly
There’s no doubt about it, the best way to look after your hair is to regularly visit your stylist, not only to help keep your style, but for advice and recommendations to get the best from your hair! Why not book a complimentary consultation at Hair by Elements in Bishop's Stortford to get started?
# 9. I will cleanse, tone & moisturise daily
If you want your skin to glow with radiance and health, start a new beauty regime. We recommend cleansing, toning and moisturising daily - although this does differ depending on your skin type. Chat to one of our beauty therapists at the Skin Clinic at Urban Spa Beauty - we are always happy to help you with your skincare goals.
#10. I will sort out my cupboards and restock
If you have a cupboard that is bulging at the seams, take the plunge and empty it out. Very often it's filled with old clothes you never wear (the charity shops will be delighted to help), or old hair and beauty products you have forgotten about. Throw out any out of date products and change products that aren’t working for you. Our hair and beauty experts can help you find the right products for your hair and beauty needs.
